Salvation without Discipleship?

Theologian and engineer for a large corporation in Chicago, Gordon became a Christian at 14. Although he experienced salvation as a child, his theological training indoctrinated him with the prevailing notion that Salvation came from accepting Christ as savior without entailing dedicated discipleship and complete submission to His lordship.  This view, in concert with pastoral experience, left him with such turmoil and anxiety that he thrust himself into an intensive study of the Bible.

The questions that plagued him…

He applied the scientific method of inductive research acquired from engineering practice to his exhaustive study of the Bible to begin answering the questions that plagued him.

  1. Is Christianity a present, overwhelming reality, or some hope-so-future benefit?

  2. If God loves me, does He think its such an unhappy thing to be a disciple?

  3. Can one be a Christian and not a disciple?

Questions that lead to comprehensive study & historical reserach

As time progressed, his questions launched him into a study of other areas: the nature of God, the nature of man, the nature and extent of sin, the atonement, and the nature of the Christian Life.

Through the months of research that began in 1933, he found the truths of God to be overwhelmingly consistent and logical.

His in-depth study of 17th to 19th-century revivals showed that the beautiful simplicity of Christian truth is the key to genuine Revival.  This site captures only a fragment of the extensive research and teachings of God’s word to which he dedicated his life.
